Chris attended Grade, Junior, & Senior High in Tremont, Illinois, a small rural town about twenty minutes Southeast of downtown Peoria. Chris is pictured here on the trail along Peoria's riverfront.

He attended college from '87 to '91 at Illinois State University in Normal, where he met his wife, Karen. Graduating with a degree in Finance in '91, he then went into the mortgage industry, working in the Bloomington and Springfield markets before settling down with Karen, pictured on right, in Peoria. In 1996 he decided to apply the sales skills learned in lending to the Title Insurance industry. He left a successful position at County Title in 2001, starting Marquise Realty, fulfilling the dream of providing the Peoria area with "below-market cost" real estate services.

Chris and Karen were volunteers from 1997 to 2007 at the Peoria Animal Welfare Shelter - PAWS. Chris & Karen live in Heritage Lake subdivision in Mackinaw where they spoil their three mix-breed dogs adopted from PAWS: Sampson, Delilah & Grizz.
